[vc_row][vc_column][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]DisneyParksBlog is reporting that Luigi’s Flying Tires at Disney California Adventure will undergo a major transformation. Here’s the link:
Just 3 years old, this ride concept never really worked as originally intended. Now, Disney is doing away with “drive yourself” bumper cars on an air hockey table in favor of a modern take on a classic spinner attraction.
The concept art doesn’t show the new ride vehicles moving along any sort of track, prompting the speculation that this ride experience will be similar to Aquatopia at DisneySea, which features an infrared-based “trackless” ride system. This gives a much more unpredictable element to the ride and should make this a fun and entertaining upgrade from what was there before. This should up the rider capacity as well, which hopefully will ease the lines for Radiator Springs Racers just a bit.
It’s great that Disney is aware when one of its rides doesn’t measure up to expectations and does something about it. When Luigi’s Flying Tires re-opens, it won’t simply be a patch on the tire. It will be full replacement with something so much better.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
